Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is 'RAW' honey?
A: Raw honey is honey that hasn't been pasteurized, or cooked. Most honey that is purchased in a store has been cooked at 120+ degrees for 20-30 minutes. This excessive heat kills valuable nutrients that are found in raw honey. Our honey is never cooked, nor is it pressure filtered. It comes straight from the hive, through a screen, and into our bottles.
Q: How should I store my honey?
A: First, never store honey in the refrigerator! This will cause it to crystallize. The best place to store honey is in a dark, room temperature environment, like a cupboard or pantry.
Q: What should I do if my honey crystallizes?
A: Simply place the jar of honey, with a tight lid, on the top shelf of your dishwasher and run it through a hot water cycle. Your honey will melt back down into delicious liquid.
Q: Do you give tours of your farm?
A: Unfortunately, we're not setup for tours. We don't have an actual 'farm', just a few bee hives, which we have placed away from our home.
Q: Do you sell hives?
A: We do not sell hives or bee packages. Check www.honeylocator.com to look for another bee keeper near you who sells this type of bee keeping equipment.
Q: Do you perform bee removal services?
A: No, we do not perform bee removal services. We recommend All Florida Bee Removal if you are in need of such help. You can call them at (800) 343-5317.
Q: Why do you have horses on your 'HONEY' website?
A: Ah, that is a good question. Horses are another passion of our family. We simply love to ride!
